The Law Foundation Year Program is ideal for students wishing to go on to study LLB Law, Public Relation or Politics degree at University.
Two Common Types of Law Foundation Program
There are two common types of foundation year program which are accepted by universities as meeting requirements to LLB Bachelor of Law. They are Foundation Year in Law and Foundation in Humanity/Social Science.
Foundation in Law
A typical Foundation in Law program may teach these modules:
- Political Institutions & Concepts
- Modern British Politics
- International Politics
- The English Legal System
- Contract Law
- Tort Law
This type of foundation program is more focus on Law/Politics. Student could have a better understanding of Law but progression to other major (e.g. business, media etc) is limited. This foundation option is recommended for those who are very determined to study law at university.
Foundation in Humanity/Social Science
A typical Foundation in Humanity/Social Science program may teach these modules:
- Economics
- Business and the Modern Market Economy
- Law
- Media and Society
- Globalisation and Global Issues
This type of foundation program teaches some Law module but it also touches other subject areas. Student could progress to either Law or other related majors such as business, media or sociology. This foundation option is recommended for those who are interested in studying law but may change their mind at a later stage.

Entry Requirements for Law Foundation Year
There’s no specific prerequisite required by Law Foundation Year. Most programs are able to accept O/A level, GCSE, International High School, Diploma qualification.
